Jaymin Patel, B.S. Economics and MCDB, Yale University
Graduate School Student
Undergraduate Institution: Yale University B.S. in Economics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology
A joint student in the Crawford and Isaacs Labs, Jaymin hopes to apply the methodologies of Chemical Biology and Synthetic Biology towards understanding the chemical ecology of the human microbiome. In particular, Jaymin is interested in developing novel functional screens to identify interesting biosynthetic pathways within the microbiome, as well as establishing robust architectures for the heterologous expression of these pathways to enable the characterization of their metabolite outputs. Prior to his graduate work, Jaymin has worked on lymphocyte migration in lymph nodes, as well as on the biocontainment of genetically modified microorganisms.
