Nam Kim was raised in Irvine, California and received his B.A. in Chemistry from the Johns Hopkins University in 2011. While at Johns Hopkins, he conducted research in the laboratory of Dr. John Toscano, where he worked on the development of nitroxyl prodrug therapeutics for the treatment of heart failures. In the Crawford Lab, he is utilizing functional screenings and metagenomic analyses to develop molecular tools for the degradation of advanced glycation end products.
