Tayah Turocy was raised in Wadsworth, Ohio. In 2018, she graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering. Under Dr. Brain Leskiw, her undergraduate research focused on gas-phase ligand exchange studies of select transition metal and alkaline earth metal diketonate complexes. She completed additional research projects including protein content of farm crickets and pharmaceutical removal through filtration as well as an internship as a process engineer at TTM Technologies. In the Crawford Lab, Tayah is focused on utilizing probiotics to develop colorectal cancer prevention techniques and inflammatory bowel disease treatments.
