Wooyoung (Christina) Cho was raised in Bayside, New York. She graduated from Macaulay Honors College at Queens College with a B.A. in Chemistry in 2015. Her research in Queens College in the laboratory of Dr. Sanjai Kumar was on the development of cathepsin L inhibitors. She also did research as a summer student in Dr. Mande Holford’s lab in Hunter College. She worked as a summer student, then as a research assistant at Rockefeller University in the laboratory of Sean F. Brady, where she used functional metagenomics for the discovery of novel antimicrobials from human gut bacteria. Her research in the Crawford Lab focuses on studying the chemical relationships between the microbiota and autoimmunity.
