Graduate School Student

Xavier grew up in Sacramento, California, and in 2025 they graduated from Stanford University, earning a B.S in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry. Xavier conducted research under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Waymouth, where they worked to develop a class of proline-derived biodegradable oligomers for the intracellular delivery of mRNA. Their work primarily focused on the synthesis of these polymers and the use of NMR spectroscopy to characterize their degradation products. Now, as a Chemical Biology graduate student in the Crawford lab, Xavier aims to characterize the structures and functions of novel metabolites produced by select members of the human microbiome.
